Welcome to the C'est Ma Vie Homes, Inc. home page at The Giving Zone. They say everything begins in the home, but because of lack of finances, millions of single mothers in the United States of America live in abject conditions unsuitable for raising children. At C'est Ma Vie Homes we are trying to help otherwise at-risk single moms maintain healthy and independent lives. We do this by placing them in quality affordable housing, close to child care facilities, reputable schools and their places of work.
Introduction
Our Affordable Housing Access program connects low income single moms with subsidized housing in safe neighborhoods and reputable school districts. The goal of the program is to enable single moms gain the financial, emotional and community support essential to raise healthy, happy children.
To do this, we need your help. Please make a donation today and make a huge difference in the lives of those most at risk to the tragic consequences of dismal or no housing at all.

Our dedicated volunteers are involved in assisting women who are in various transition periods in their lives. While creating a community that supports women, we are often reminded that going through a difficult period in life need not lead to feelings of shame or stigmatization. These feelings are compounded especially when women need to confront housing problems that may come with single motherhood or having little credit history. We remind all women that they are not alone in this process. We work to match women who are thus able to pool their resources together to rent a comfortable space they may call home. Building Community Fabric C?est Ma Vie Homes, Inc. recognizes that while relief efforts geared towards immediate homelessness and hunger are essential to servicing the communities, the long term mission should be in building a social fabric while providing the stability of living conditions in which under-served communities may flourish. This indicates a long term need for affordable housing for the hard working people of Staten Island. While single adult males have often times been able to overcome the problem of housing by pooling resources together and renting single rooms, the same has not necessarily been the case for women who often times require more than ?a bed?, especially when they are the sole bread winner of a single-parent home. We aim to provide them the opportunity to raise their families in safer and sounder neighborhoods while making sure that their children grow up in better, safer homes. Community Facts in Staten Island In Staten Island, women who are single parents are more likely to face discrimination when looking for a place to live due to several different factors: Apart from facing stigma that manifests from social biases against heading non-traditional families without fathers, their average income is lower than the average two-parent household, their credit history may be botched or non-existent due to recent divorce, and they have many responsibilities that a single working male professional or a two-parent family does not face.
Our Mission
There is a tremendous need to assist women in Staten Island who face these challenges. We aim to assist women in such need: Networking, pooling resources, sharing useful tips is invaluable in improving women?s lives and anchoring a firm and stable future for their children. Making housing affordable in Staten Island is vital for community stability. In fact, our future depends on it. C?est Ma Vie Homes, Inc. is currently focused on servicing and empowering women, but we hope to reach out to men as well, while being committed to improving the quality of family living and enhancing the underserved communities of Staten Island.
